i suspect that my 3800 engine is not the original that came with the car. Where can i find numbers to identify my engine? Where are they on the engine?

Astronomy says we will find a coded signal from outer space. Then we'll KNOW that life exists there, for coded signals aren't by chance.

Biology says there are coded genetic signals in every cell, but we KNOW that no intelligence created life.

I'm the original owner of a white ' 84 2M4 purchased Dec 10, 1983 from Pontiac. Always garaged, no rust, 3800SC, 4-wheel drifts are fun!

I presume you're talking about a car other then a Fiero, as Fieros never came with 3800s haha. In which case there's a other cars category. Either way, there should be some identification markings on the engine, and something in the vin to indicate engine and something on the options code sheet, a sticker somewhere like on the fiero's drivers front fender in the frunk.

Ok well info on the motor can be found on the vin number of the original car, options sticker of original car, and perhaps some numbers on the engine

Just so anyone doesn't go off track , What John is asking is the engine from his donor car was the original to that specific car or was an earlier engine installed. John is trying to verify if his L67 is 99 and up or pre 99. We believe we have it figured out in the Whatapp group.
