Cooling temp gauge reading compared to sensor (Ohms) (Page 1/1)

Somewhere many years ago I found a chart "Temp vs. Resistance for GM Sensors". The chart call out for a temp of 260 degs is 75 ohms. In the 85 tech manual it states 260 degs is 55 ohms. Going to the other end the chart stares 100 degs is 1600 ohms and the tech manual states 1365. What is correct?

Most pages here & elsewhere post Ω value but many are Wrong for What goes with...

Is Only for ECM sensors. see https://web.archive.org/web...fierocave/ecmqrg.htm

Dash Temp Gauge have different sender Ω values even tho still NTC thermistor based.
But Dash Gauges often are "bad" from wiring problems...

see https://www.fiero.nl/forum/Forum2/HTML/146784.html Fuel, Engine Temp or Oil Pressure gauges have problems?

⚠️ Even after you check/fix gauge issues, Dash Temp Numbers mean very little. GM never bothered to calibrate that gauge.
