showing off with some spoiler questions (Page 1/1)

I had to take off my original spoiler since it kept leaking water into my trunk and had been...."attached" Sometime in the 2000s with drywall screws and only one nut on the other side, I got a gt spoiler for 20 bucks and had to do some major reconstructive surgery to fix the water and ice damaged fiberglass but it looks pretty good but I did have to drill a new alignment hole in the 88 formula decklid and made a little metal plate to spread the load across the fiberglass

now the real question I have is what was the original spoiler even from? I would like to reuse it so if I can find the legs or make them I'm going to do so.

The item in your pictures sure looks like an original Fiero wing.

Looks great Carter. I had to do some surgery on mine too. Studs pulled out of one side. Used JB weld to reseat the studs in position. Worked ok but I have to be careful on how tight I I attach the wing stand to the deck lid. I reused the original gaskets but still have a leak. Going to be ordering new gaskets from Fiero Store.

Love the Orange and black look on that car. Reminds me of the old school Tony Stewart cars from years ago. When GM came out with the Stewart edition Monte I wanted to buy it so bad, but I already had a pace car and a Gordon edition. And didn't want to trade either one. And 3 Montes were out of the question.

Seems you're making progress on the car (lights working) and such. Good to see you working on more cosmetic stuff than the nightmare you've been dealing with.

As Joe said above, that is a factory wing however you need new wingstands. Also if I remember correctly, the notchback and GT have different mounting holes which is why the wingstands have different mounting points. You can move the rear stud to the 2nd hole depending on your type of decklid.

Pickens are pretty slim on a decent set of wings stands out there. When mine needed them my first thought was Sage. But he's been out of the business for a while.

Well, I haven't tried to print these yet. There are a few minor errors I need to correct but these are always an option.

the hood may be black at some point as well. this car is getting a 80s street racer look and it suits it nicely. also the lights are still giving me grief but I've been living with it and just being annoyed at my parking lights
