4.9L Auto swap- No start. (Page 1/1)

I have been trying to fire up the old 4.9L Caddy swap for some time without success. The trans was rebuilt and when it was all put back together it didn't start again. The scan tool reads code 52 but that just shows a reset of the ECM. It also says "check connections". A check of the wiring showed power and grounds on all connections but I need to check then all again. The engine has a new distributor and I will check if it is providing a crank signal but the scan tool should set an error code it it wasnt working. Any ideas how I can pin point the problem?. There is fuel pressure but no spark so that may tell something.

Do you have 12v to the coil?
Is the coil grounded?
Is the rotor intact?
Does it read cranking rpm on the tach?

Good suggestions. Last time I read voltage at the coil. Rotor is new as is the distributor Not sure about cranking RPM on the tach. As for ground that may be the connection on the connector. Tomorrow I'll recheck everything.

The coil grounds to the metal framework in the cap, from there out to the harness. it's easy to miss if the screw got missed.

Problem found. One ECM Black/white stripe ground wire on connector A had come out of the connector. Being sent out for repair
