replacing all the rubber bushings and inspecting the front end and man the instructions for the fiero store prothane bushings suck when your tired
got one upper control arm done so far (bushings, paint and new balljoint at 3 am) I think the front spring needs to be put in at an angle if memory serves so that's gonna be fun.

the kyb shocks are supposed to extend on their own and not fully compress under ~50 pounds of force and stay down right?
lastly where do I find the torque specs? tight as I can get it Is usually fine but I should probably make sure the stuff is properly done

For the prothane poly bushings, they will squeak. If you install them per the instructions, they could squeak from day 1. What I do is wrap the center metal tube in Teflon tape, grease it and install it all like that, the Teflon tape kept the squeaks from appearing for over a year for me, and they still aren't very bad.

the instructions just say to grease the metal liberally so i did, also the front end squeaked before from metal on metal from how bad the front upper bushings were. I will probably buy more Teflon based grease

How did you get the old bushings out? And did you use new bolts?

tried burning them out with no luck, so we started hitting them with a screwdriver and the rubber bushings slid out.
did not get new bolts for anything yet

Yeah, I know that is the official installation instructions, but applying Teflon tape is a huge improvement.

Right you only need the rubber part out. I need it all out.

If you get new bolts please post it here, I don't know if the 88 is the same as the others, anyone know?

Normally, the steel sleeve fits tightly inside the polyurethane bushing, possibly requiring some taps with the hammer to get it inside.

How do you squeeze Teflon tape in the gap, seeing as there is no gap?

If tape is pre-wrapped onto the sleeve, does it not bunch up and get pushed off the steel sleeve when inserting the sleeve into the polyurethane bushing?
