How to choose my gear cable ? (Page 1/1)
Belgium Fiero FR JUN 10, 09:58 AM
Hello!

For my Fiero GT 86, I need to change the shift cable. How can I determine which brand to choose between Pioneer and ATP, aside from the length?

Also, which length is for the 3rd and 4th gears: 74" or 62.125"? And which one is for Reverse, 1st, and 2nd gears?

The cable currently on my car is not exactly the same as any of the four on RockAuto.

Thank you for your help.

There are 2 cables, which don't correspond with specific gears, 1 cable is for the shifters front/back movement, and the second cable is for the shifters side to side movement. Is it a 4 speed or a 5 speed. Rock auto likely thinks it is a 5 speed, which may be why the cables are different. Get Rodney's, they are the best. If you absolutely can't, and it is a 4 speed, look up cables for the 85 v6.
