Passenger side headlight not moving (Page 1/1)

Hello, I’ve been experiencing an issue with my 85 gt fiero where the drivers side headlight raises and lowers fine, but the passengers side headlight does not raise or lower on its own. I can usually get it to raise by pressing hard on the top of the motor a few times, but other times I have to manually spin it all the way up. When trying to lower the motor, I can almost always get it to lower on its own by again pressing hard on the top of the motor. I haven’t checked the relays yet but that’s on my list and I’ll check them ASAP but I figured I’d ask here first. Thanks in advance

That seems to sound like the brushes, they'll work intermittently, more not work though, when the brushes fall off. Rodney sells brushes with conductive glue.

You can rebuild the motor (do both at the same time for convenience) but the best thing to do is to convert the headlight system to a Gen 2 headlight system. You'll need the headlight wiring loom from an '87 or later vehicle but IMNO, it's well worth the investment and effort. Headlight motors for the Gen 2 system can still be had and the control module is available too (C4 corvette model).

Biology says there are coded genetic signals in every cell, but we KNOW that no intelligence created life.
