Transmission Bracket (?) Identification (Page 1/1)

I have a 1988 GT 5-speed I've done a clutch swap on.

Unfortunately, the time between when the transmission came off and when I put it back on was a few months longer than I planned so I've had to figure out how I'd organized all the parts I removed.

I'm unable to make out a part number and cannot for the life of me figure out what this bracket/mount is or where it's supposed to go.

If anyone here knows what it is/where in the service manual it's referenced, any help would be appreciated!

It's been awhile and many Fiero's don't have that any more, If memory serves me correct, that bolts to the transmission, down low on the outer rear of the case. I believe it act as a bumper to the cradle under hard acceleration. somewhere under and behind the CV axle output of the transaxle case on the left ( Drivers side)

That's wild! I've never seen that before, but I don't remember seeing that on my auction 5-Speed 87 SE/V6 that I stripped. Was that an 88-only thing?

Thanks for the replies! Based on jelly2m8's description, I was able to notice that the bracket's mounting holes line up perfectly with the two bolt holes for the rear transaxle mount on the driver's side, thereby likely bolting to the transaxle along with the rear mount.

When oriented that way, the bracket's rubber side sits about 1/4 inch above one of the lateral link brackets on the cradle, so I think an acceleration/torque bumper is exactly what it is.

Yep that's it, now I remember thinking ' I have to take those bracket bolts back out: :P

I think it's an 88 Getrag only thing.

That bracket with the rubber pad was a Getrag 88 thing.

I assume because the cradle design was different this was used.

I don’t know were the pad would have touched on the pre-88 cradle.
I have never seen this on an 86-87GT Getrag Fiero.
One my old 87GT or online pictures over 30 years now.

I’m very specific and remember 88 parts / changes, to earlier Fieros.
