2.5l 88. Anybody have any ideas on what could be causing the issue shown in this video?
https://youtube.com/shorts/o9YIVgxcFsM
1st 2nd start I didn't give it any gas 3rd I gave it gas and idled it jankily myself for a few seconds. Never does this when it's been sitting for awhile, always does it after the car has been stopped and sits for about 10 minutes. If it doesn't shut off like it did in the video, it has a rough idle then smoothes out a bit, but it's almost as if I turned it off myself as it's not sputtering or anything.

I realize you're new here, but please don't start new threads for the same issue. All that accomplishes is rehashing the same stuff all over again, wasting everyone's time.
Stick to your original thread.

@ Minimum have wiring problems.
OP gauge "pegged" hard right is "gauge not connected" to sender like unplugged @ sender or have ground problems.
Clean/fix all ground in the engine bay but more so w/ 2 bolted @ trans bell as rear ground is to DIS Brick. coat w/ silicon or permatex green label brake grease.
see https://web.archive.org/web...ierocave/ecmwire.htm If have old style Sender get 88 sender & plug soon even if not leaking oil now or is "good" otherwise. see https://web.archive.org/web...rocave/oilsender.htm
Gauges can have other problems but clean grounds first.
Note: This engine after sitting hours to days often don't start for first bump of the I-key. Even Wells one of big makers of DIS ICM can't tell me why this version still wants a long crank or bump the key 2 or more times to start when parked.
So don't see anything obvious else but gauge w/ problems in the vid.

I brought this specific issue up multiple times in replies and nobody really said anything specific to this, so I figured give a video and make a post just specifically about this.
I don't believe it's tied to any of the other issues and is it own thing.

If you knew that for sure, you wouldn't be seeking advice here.
I asked a question in your original thread that bears answering.

The gauge isn't supposed to lay completely down? That makes sense. Alrighty, I'll check the grounds.
The thing I'm talking about is that it starts and then stalls immediately. It will keep on doing that. It'll never do that when it has been sitting for hours or days, only when it has been on long enough to reach operating temp and has been sitting for minutes.
It does do what you are saying with the long crank and as long as that is normal I'm fine with it, but the stalling after it turns over cannot be normal as the only way to get it running afterwards is to give it gas.

I know that's why I said believe, I'm here for others opinions. Also my bad I haven't been on since I posted this thread, I didn't see your question yet. I have answered it.
I just personally don't believe it's related to fuel. It could be and I could be wrong, but I am doing what you guys are suggesting, I just don't have all the tools I need for this car. So I have to get them first to give you guys answers.[This message has been edited by Gizmo0816 (edited 07-15-2024).]

This can be a ground problem too or other problems including fuel pressure.
Example: ECM can cause this & more when have crack solder joint or other problems in it. Pull the console & see if have same problem running w/ huge air flow to cool it. See https://web.archive.org/web...ierocave/ecmheat.htm
If stopped then ECM is "dead" & get a new one.
