Hi
Just wondering ....
Other than a scratchy connection, can a sensor itself have an intermittent failure? TPS or MAP particularly.
How about a fuel-ignition Module? Can it cause a misfire but not fail completely?
Can a temp sensor "change" over time?

The very idea of a "scratchy connection"would suggest yes. A car and it's sensors undergo so much vibration, both small, high frequency, and big hard low frequency bumps, if any component has a cracked solder joint, broken cable (inside the insulation) or even a little metal chip floating around in something intermittently causing shorts, then who knows what can happen, complete permanent failure, complete temporary failure, partial permanent, or partial temporary. Even the ECMs can have this occur internally.
