Broke down code 35 (Page 1/1)

Recently got the engine running on my 85' GT after sitting for 20ish years. Seemed to be running ok other than an audible vacuum leak.
Took it on a test drive and was fine for the most part cruising around under 30mph, although the gas pedal seemed a bit stiff. After trying to speed up a bit on a level road, I shifted into what I believe was 3rd gear and the car died. Didn't pass operating temperature.
I let it cool down for a minute and started her back up again. No codes.
Turned around to head back home and it died again after driving for around another minute. This time it would not start back up. Towed it home and have code 35 getting thrown at me 3 times. Any ideas on where to go from here?
I had planned on replacing all my vacuum lines and my EGR Valve/Tube.

I did look over that description. I wanted to see if anyone has gotten this code at the same time as their vehicle breaking down. I'm not sure what could've been so extreme to cause the failure.

Failing fuel pump (or splitting "rubber" hose in tank) causing a lean condition, before failing completely? Or it could be something entirely unrelated to a Code 35, such as a failed ICM.

You need to check for basics, such as fuel pressure and spark.

Im with Patrick.

Ignore the code till you check your basics. Spark. Fuel, Timing. Lets see what you are missing first

How old was the gas? Could affect fuel injector performance if the fuel is gummed up.
