i started removing the 2.5 head today because it was a little cooler.i actually removed the factory manifold bolts without problems.should i replace them?next question in theres a hose hooked to the bottom of the intake manifold.it uses ac fittings but i assume its coolant.how do i unhook it?

I would definitely replace the manifold bolts. The Fiero Store sells all new manifold bolts for both the exhaust mannifold and the intake manifold. No point in re-using the originals. For the intake though, some of the bolts are threaded at the other end too for things that attach to them, so you'll want to keep those. But no point re-using the old exhaust manifold bolts. They have new hardened ones for like a dollar a piece (or something in that price range).

For the coolant pipe... I don't have an 87-88 motor in front of me anymore, but on my daughter's 85, the pipe unscrews. It should be threaded and it just unscrews from the manifold.

On your 87 that's a quick disconnect fitting. Press the 2 tabs and wiggle/ work the coolant line out of it.

If that fitting isn't leaking, I would not try to unscrew it, they get brittle with age and more often than not break off in the manifold.
