I have a 1988 fiero gt that sat in a shed for about 20 years. Got it out and had someone work on it to where it would run. Ran it for about 2 years with minor troubles. About 2 months ago it would die in 2 nd and 3 rd gear around 3000 rpm and sometimes in 5th at 3000 rpms. Put in different gas and had no troubles. Afyer about a week or two with no troubles it just wouldn't start.
Replaced the spark plugs, spark plug wires, and the battery still won't start. When i turn the key it will act like it wants to start but never will. Any ideas?

What have you actually checked?
The issue of a non-starting engine comes up... a lot. There's only so many ways we can say the same things over and over. Have you looked over any of these many many threads? Try a few things that have been mentioned repeatedly, and if you still have issues, please feel free to ask for further guidance.

The Ignition Control Module always is suspect in issues like you describe. There are lots of threads about it. Most of us actually carry a spare.
How is your tachometer? Is it steady? Does it follow what the engine feels like it's doing? I ask that because the tack sees only primary ignition so if it's erratic, it's not a fuel problem.

Young fiero lover last posted 22 days ago. I suspect he's ditched the Fiero and is now having an affair with an MR2.

Sorry for not responding, started school and haven't been able to do anything. For right now I do not need anymore suggestions and will go through all the other threads like you mentioned patrick. I will never ditch the fiero.

No start is mainly due to no fuel or spark. On these 30-40 yr old vehicles fuel pumps and/or ignition modules are main causes. I still have my Fiero... which I bought in 1996 when I was a senior in high school! Never is possible, but always comes with a cost, haha...
