Mitsubishi transmission mounts in your Fiero? (Page 1/1)

Seriously, using these Mitsubishi Pajero 2 transmission mounts may be a way of having an unbreakable gearbox mount while retaining confort and ride quality?
And could be used on pretty much every Fiero manual tranny.

I'm a huge proponent of a captured Engine mount., here is mine, probably a bit much, a slight bit to un-forgiving.

it's a wonderful idea. I personally have only broke one trans mount and it was a original that had Almost fully collapsed.
I do wonder if a later 4t60 or 4t65ehd mount would work with only minor modifications

The cotton reel style mounts that "Jelly" shows are great for not breaking, but rubbish for confort.
That's what I had everywhere else on the engine, with TH400 poly mounts on the gearbox.
Too harsh for me now!

I couldn't find a picture of a 4T65 mount? Again, slight problem in Europe to get hold of US only spec parts...

The Pajero 2 mounts are easily available here, which is a major reason to use them 😉

You are 100% correct there, which is why I said un- forgiving. Driving it is fine, no vibration noticed, BUT at Idle in drive......I feel the vibration, I usually slide it into neutral at the coffee shop drive through etc.

I have thought about changing the mounts to something more compliant, but they need to be readily available. Perhaps these Mitsubishi one's are viable.
