Hey there from Sweden!
A question!
I bought a fiero gt 1987 a couple of days ago
I have wheels home but i dont know i they fit!
Can someone told me if 20*8,5” et38 with 225/30-20 i front and 20*10,5” et 40 with 255/30-20 fit my car. The car is totaly stock now but i will modify it this winter

Thanks!

For the front, the tire will fit. The diameter of the 20" tire is just about the same as stock. The 8.5" width is what many use already. The offset is within reason

For the rear, I don't think it will without you building coil overs. The problem you will run into is the strut assembly hitting the rim.

There is a chart floating around for the fiero offsets to help determine this.

Take a look at this. The first line on the left side is the strut/shock. The blue lines on the right are stock tire locations. The black lines on the right are the wheel well edges.

To give you an idea of fittment, this is Nosaints car. He runs 19x9.5 in the rear with coilovers so you can see he is at the limit of the fender.

The Fiero does not have as advanced suspension compared to newer cars- no aluminum suspension arms or spindles/hubs nor ceramic brake rotors.....so not really good to add unsprung weight- will result in harder riding and feeling like a old pickup.

Sidewall height; Years ago a co-worker won a Dodge Shelby Charger with 195/50-15s...he hit a 2x4 on a freeway offramp- stripped the tire from the wheel and he slid off the road, damaging a fender.

I will not go under 4" sidewalls.....I am running 205/55-16 tires up front. When I changed to 16" wheels, I was careful to select a light wheel- so I took 3 lbs off each rear wheel and (Because I dropped from 215 to 205 front tire width) I was able to remove 6 lbs off each front wheel....the car went from driving like a pickup truck to driving like a modern car.

Rotational mass will kill acceleration and braking ability also.

I don't disagree with you at all... but some people are more interested in a certain "look" than they are with handling and/or performance.
