I want to give you some info; Although Tire Rack is a pretty good website for researching tires, it for some reason will not show some tire brands/styles in certain sizes.
Case in point; I looked for 87 GT size tires (205 & 215 60-15s) and it showed a very limited number of options- and I want to make clear- the BFG T/As are not very good tires and cost a bunch!
I had recently looked for tires in a different way for another Fiero-guy, and found that General makes their AltiMAX RT45 Touring tire in the sizes you need- they are very good tires, not too expensive, and also a bit lighter than most (Especially the overweight T/As)...
On my 85 SE V6, I switched to 16 x 7 wheels and General Tires...been driving it this way for 15 years...also am using the AltiMAX on my other vehicle....good tire that lasts.

Anything modern other than the BF TA's will greatly enhance the quarter century plus old Fiero.

The Altimax line is a REALLY good , underrated tire, I've ran a few sets, I've ' upgraded to a higher brand'... I go back to Altimax's.

Hello, I went with Yokohama AVID Ascend for my 88 GT. Very happy with them. One of the better 15" IMHO [This message has been edited by 88Fingers (edited 09-12-2024).]

Originally, they were "THE TIRE!!!" back in the 70s & 80s...in the 90s they had the Euro TA which was better....But around 2000-2005, they changed the TAs to just a "Classic" tire without any modern technology...and actually, they "DE-contented" them...back in the old days they were soft-compound tires that stuck good (Wear rating was horrible at 200-300) Now they are hard-compound and the wear rating is up at 500+....
Also, I was looking for tires and comparing different ones for a friend....those new TAs weigh 2-5 Pounds more than any other tire. That un-sprung and Rotational mass will KILL performance and make the car ride like a pick-up truck.
I switched to those 16 x 7 wheels and General tires back around 2010....Because of wheel lightness and smaller tires up front, I eliminated 3 lbs off each rear and 6 lbs off each front....the car drove so much better it was amazing.
Look at the newer Ford GT350 Mustang- the main performance difference between it and the "R" version is composite wheels that eliminate 10 lbs from each corner.
Wanted to add; Just looked at 215/60-15 size and the cost was $190 for the (Crap) BFG and $120 for the Generals...so pay more for less (But the name- wozzer!!!)[This message has been edited by cvxjet (edited 09-12-2024).]

205/60/15 are $115 each....215/60-15 are $119 each...that is thru TireRack....may possibly find better prices; Big O used to have higher prices but finally became competitive, so now I just go to local Big O and buy/install thru them.
