Hi there, I have an 86 SE 2.8, 4 speed manual, I am looking for the speed sensor plastic gear, I probably dropped it inside the gear when pulled out the VSS, buying a new one is no where to be found... any ideas? if I wount be able to buy it, I would probably need to disassemble the transmission case and I am terrified to do it....

If you can... buy one of those telescopic cameras that allow you to see inside on a flexible shaft. That way you can see for sure whether or not the gear is actually in the transmission or not. If it is, you'll want to get it out regardless since it can cause damage to the transmission parts if it's allowed to get ground up (so to speak).
They're really hard to find if you need to buy a replacement. But you can likely get one from a used parts supplier... like the Fiero Factory, Fiero Farm, or one of those places.

the transmission is extremely easy to take apart. I just rebuilt 2 plus a few getrags for a local fiero clubs warehouse. there's a guide in the manual and a few videos I suggest finding a few but do try to retrieve the gear with a flexible claw grabber first
