Hi,
I am in the process of a 3800SC swap and am going to need a PCM soon. I am planning to snag a harness and a PCM from a yard near me, and am going to do the harness wiring work. I have done an LS swap on something else in the past so the wiring is not an issue, but for that I just sent my PCM to a dude and he flashed it for me for like 50$. I know I can use HP Tuners and stuff but the investment cost of that seems a bit higher for what I am looking for since its pretty much stock aside from having the 3800SC.
Is there someone around that does PCM reprogramming and will do a flash that essentially all stock with VATS gone? Or does anyone sell reprogrammed PCMs? I am also not opposed to buying an already complete harness if one shows up at a decent price.
Thanks!

ZZ Performance is the best at reprogramming the 3800 PCM but if you just want the VATS turned off thats a simple flick of a couple of switches on the program. Anyone with an HP Tuners editor can get that done. Joe Welch (olejoedad) can build you a very neat and functional 3800 swap harness. His work is very good.

Ryan has done a lot of 3800 tuning in person and mail order.

Thanks for the nice words, Dennis.
I need to tell you that ZZ Performance tunes for a Fiero swap leave a lot to be desired. Their tunes for the FWD applications are very good, but every ZZP tune in a Fiero that we have had thru the shop were not correct.

I always did all my own tuning and have never used ZZP . ZZP has had more experience with the 3800 than just about any place around so I made the assumption that they should be the experts. My tunes are specific to the engine, vehicle and with so many variables it becomes a custom job. When I did them in the past we did road scans, saved the results and made changes where improvements were required. Actually WOT was the easiest as it uses a fixed fueling table. We charted the fueling mixtures per RPM and MAP readings preferably with a wideband and related that to performance but you really need a dyno to optimize horsepower with a tune. The OP just wanted to shut off the VAX. That's three changes and a 10 minute job. ------------------ " THE BLACK PARALYZER" -87GT 3800SC Series III engine, custom ZZP /Frozen Boost Intercooler setup, 3.4" Pulley, Northstar TB, LS1 MAF, 3" Spintech/Hedman Exhaust, P-log Manifold, Autolite 104's, MSD wires, Custom CAI, 4T65eHD w. custom axles, Champion Radiator, S10 Brake Booster, HP Tuners VCM Suite.
