So I have a possible marketplace trade and I'm wondering if anyone recognizes this coilover kit? It's for an 88.

Looks like a home made kit. Fieroguru sells a kit but his has custom hats and bump stops so it isn't his kit. I would say someone just bought the sleeves and springs and made their own. I wouldn't trade anything of high value for them. The shocks look old and may need to be replaced so you might end up on the short end of the deal.

Do you have the factory rear springs? If so, I suggest putting Monroe or KYB struts and call it a day.

To me, the hassle of installing struts and aligning; do the job correctly and don't think about 'old struts'.

I put Konis on my car but don't know if they are still available. Some of the less expensive shocks are decent but unless you know what you are getting I'd shy away from something that might work.

I have correspondence from the Product Manager at Koni US over the Fiero product line. They were discontinued last year due to the stamping supplier for the strut/knuckle attachment bracket going bankrupt. They haven't found an economical supplier for that part in Europe at the volumes the Fiero product needs. The Fiero was the only application they supported that used that specific attachment bracket.

A lot of places still list them, but if you ask if they are in stock or if they can order them, they will come back with nothing. I have contacted pretty much every vendor or distributor that Koni sold to in the last year of production... every one of them is out of stock.



For '88 Rear Struts, you can pick:
Either KYB Excel-G
Or Monroe
