I need a set of weather stripping for my 88 CJB. I know it's a long shot, but doesn't hurt to try.

That's more than a long shot to ask and a longer shot to get a positive response. You may get better results seeking a complete T-Top, CBJ or Non-CBJ. I'll keep an eye out just in case.

Once upon a time, one of the folks here adapted Camarobird weather seals. They seemed to work quite well. I'll have to look for the thread. It was quite detailed.
Edit - This one. https://www.fiero.nl/forum/Forum2/HTML/104028.html
2nd edit - His car was an 87, so was NOT a CJB. There were/are some minor differences.[This message has been edited by Raydar (edited 12-05-2023).]

I know that I have a better chance of finding Bigfoot than t-top seals, but I have to try.

Thanks. I've seen that before, I'm not comfortable making those modifications to the body. I tried splicing in mustang seals, but it's not easy to join the two pieces of rubber together.

As for these seals, someone in the US must have a NOS seals set for the 88 T-Top. The answer is some Fiero enthusiast would need to get their hands on this NOS part, and analyze it to reproduce it. Today, any competant seal manufacturing company could reproduce this. Lots of R&D would be required, as I know things like this aren’t easy. Takes expertise and time. It takes someone that is passionate about these cars and not necessarily concerned to make a huge profit. Yes, a return to break above even (naturally) but they might not all sell out that year. They need to have a perfect or better reproduction part so the price will be worth it all together. People that get into these so called business side lines, need to have the space to store them in case they sit for 4-5 plus years. Storage costs money. But if that doesn’t hurt the person involved, that’s a plus. That’s why many Fiero parts aren’t reproduced is because there’s no “fast” money. That’s why they’re called “side lines”. It’s not their main income. Parts can or may sit for a few years before the parts are sold out. But it happens often that these folks that reproduce parts, a lot of Fiero enthusiasts don’t have the money at that specific time. Just like Keith Goodyears GT lenses, awesome product and it was released before the pandemic. A lot of people couldn’t work, lost their jobs, and taillights weren’t a life priority. I will admit, it happened to me. Tuff times…------------------ fierogt28

A few years ago, I did try a couple of manufacturers to see about reproducing seals. First thing they did was do a quick search to see how many t-top cars were produced. The low numbers alone was enough to discourage them. Then they gave me rough estimates of about 40k to reproduce them. While perhaps in 20 years then need for t-top seals will become even greater (because they all will eventually dry up/wear out), most still won’t be willing to pay the high price to make them

How much are you willing to pay??
