My son really wanted a Fiero when he was in high school so I helped him purchase this car in 2007. Not a good college car so it became my car. I had dreams to put another engine in it but at this point I have so many projects and activities that I will never get around to such a mod.
10 years ago I was rear ended. The trunk was crushed in. Insurance totaled it but I bought it back and had it repaired. The body shop found no frame damage. I found a complete trunk unit. My body shop cut off the crushed trunk and welded on the undamaged trunk. It looked to me that they did a very good job. They found very little rust, except around the battery. That was fixed. Since so much of the body would need to be repainted I had the shop repaint the whole car. Corvette yellow.
The interior is a bit rough. The driver's seat has a bunch of tears in the fabric. The head liner fabric was coming loose so I took it down to recover it. But never got around to doing that.
In anticipation of this being a long term project I collected a number of spare parts when they became available. These are listed below.

1988 Coupe 164,000 miles 2.5L 4 cylinder 5 speed manual T-Top, CBJ, has code designating it was factory installed (most were not), aftermarket locks Manual windows Radio works but sometimes the LED display is not readable Air conditioner does not work Tach works intermittently, a fist bump on the dash usually makes it work Progressive brake lights module added by previous owner Wheels are from Fiero GT New battery Interior needs work. Headliner is out and needs to be recovered. Seats need covers. Drivers seat has spacers added to tip it back slightly (can be easily removed) Recent State Inspection Clear title (reconstructed)
I purchased 2007, 122K Water pump, 139K Catalytic converter, 141K Head gasket blew, 151K, so while the head was off I had it complete valve job Rear brake pads, 151K Was rear ended, 151K. Insurance totaled it. I bought it back and had it fixed. All new paint, yellow. Rear trunk section replaced. Added a wing. Door window dew wipes replaced There is very little frame rust Tires (4), 152K Muffler, 152K Serpentine belt, 160K Front brake pads, 163K Starter, 163K Valve cover gasket, 163K Clutch master cylinder & slave cylinder new, 163K
Extras: Owners manual is a reprint Service Manual, 2 volume Chilton Service Manual Set of stainless steel brake lines, never installed Set of 2 front wheel bearings (not original stock) Rear brake light assemblies, (3) L, (1) R Mud flaps Interior trim pieces, misc
