Storage Compartment Door (Page 1/1) Kern MAR 08, 12:08 PM Hello All, When I purchased the 1988 GT, it had a cobbled door on the storage compartment between the seat backs. I sourced a couple of replacements but noted that the plastic bases were distorted and the trim had shrunk from the sides. I am getting new seat covers from MrMikes so I ordered extra trim materials for the door. Meanwhile, the distorted bases were tackled. The latch, padding, and upholstery were stripped from the base and a fixture was created to attempt to flatten the plastic base. The first try was not successful so modifications were made to the fixture and a second try was made. This was successful!! I now have a very flat base onto which the padding and upholstery can be added, the hardware installed, and put into the car. The planned upholstery will match the new seat covers.
