WTB - RD's Paddle Nuts for front suspension (Page 1/1)

Hello: All

As we all know that Rodney is a complete treasure to the Fiero community, but entering retirement, so when his parts are gone, they are gone.

I unfortunately missed the opportunity to purchase the paddle nuts for the 84-87 Fiero front suspension that helps aid in alignments.

I know it's a long shot, but thought I would ask that I'm in the market to purchase any, even if it's used.

The paddle nuts are only for the 88s.


They are less important once you buy or build the special tool to help with upper a-arm positioning during the alignment process.

Is there anything for the 84-87 that is similar?

Or is this only 88?

The 84-87 upper A-arm is attached with a long bolt in a sleeve that is welded to the crossmember. To add more the caster, you move washers from front to back on the long bolt.

So there is no need for these paddle nuts on the 84-87.

There's a different "paddle nuts" part RD was selling for 84-87 front suspension which allows you to loosen the upper balljoint bolts without needing to hold onto the nut underneath.
This makes it easier to adjust camber (you also need the slotted balljoints which provide an adjustment). I'm not sure how much easier - I don't have them.
I looked at buying them about 6 months ago when I was replacing everything in my right front, but I skipped it to save money. I'm disappointed to hear they're not available anymore though.

That’s why when I need something or will need it in the future, I bit the bullet and buy it now. Those are for parts or items I have a vision that probably won’t be available in 1 year or more.
It seems when a part goes out of stock, then people want it, but once it available, nobody seems to care. It’s all about “one day I’ll get them”. Realistically a day that will never happen.
I see this so much, I don’t even believe that comment anymore.
One day means never to me. From experience, it never, ever gets done.
