Up for sale is my 1984 Pontiac Fiero with the 2.5l 4 cylinder and 4-speed manual transmission with 120k miles. It runs and drives, has a clean title and virtually no rust, with over $6,000 poured into it in parts and repair over my ownership.
I had picked up this car in 2020 as a project after it sat for 23 years, and got it running, driving and road legal again with meticulous repairs and regular maintenance. I went on to drive it over 2,700 miles in my care. It runs and drives and is currently on non-op, with the only current significantly noticeable drivability issue being with stuttering between ~2.5-3k rpm under heavier throttle though it cruises and accelerates smoothly outside of that range. The variety of spare parts it comes with includes a fuel injection pressure regulator kit to hopefully address the issue.
It passed CA smog in 2021 and has had much of the emissions equipment repaired, including new vacuum lines and the replacement of most of the sensors and exterior engine components related to smooth operation such as the EGR and IAC valves. The ignition system has also been refreshed with a new distributor, cap, ICM, spark plugs and wires. The battery was also replaced in 2024.
Additionally, all 4 shocks/struts have been replaced with OEM-style performance KYB units, including mounts. The clutch system has also been refreshed, with a new clutch master and slave cylinder and fluid. The cooling system has also been refreshed with a coolant flush, new radiator cap, thermostat + housing and water pump. It has newer tires with under 3,000 miles on them, and the shift and throttle cables have been replaced making for a more responsive driving experience.
It comes with a collection of spare parts including new rubber brake lines for all four corners, the replacement fuel pressure regulator and spare parts that can fail in these cars for emergencies, such as the ICM and alternator belt. It also includes a variety of replacement cosmetic parts such as louvered side rear decklid covers.
Asking $3,000, located near Redding, CA. Please reach out for inquiries or questions. Thank you!
