It is never enough for those who claim that they do not believe in God to simply say only that.
They are somehow compelled to also mock and ridicule those who do profess belief.
They do that to anesthetize the pain of their own ignorance and bigotry with the illusion that their ridicule shows how much more "erudite" they are than the faithful.

It will happen in this thread if it goes long enough.

As for Dr. Peterson, he obviously hears the knocking at his door but has yet to open it and invite him in.
Only then will he fully understand that words, thoughts and deeds will never be his own salvation or anyone else's.

John 14:6

Just 30 seconds. It's an "association" thing. What first came to mind when I perused this still very nascent discussion.

I'm not exactly quarreling with Ron Reagan here. Although the way he ends this seems kind of smug and gratuitous. "Over the top." I guess he's playing to his base.

Like I did Here in this very recent thread?

Take a look in the mirror, randye. Seems to me you're the one in these here parts who's "compelled to mock and ridicule".

I do not participate in organized religion. If you knock on my door I will be nice and even offer you water if its hot out but I would leave it at that.
The problems with religion is they are full of the same fallible people that say they don't believe in anything.

The universe is a vast place, we have no idea what is on the other side let alone outside of it.
The human mind is not capable of understanding everything, heck most of us miss the things right in front of us.
So who is to say that an entity with the ability to create everything we can perceive would be able to understand everything in our known little pocket of the universe, perhaps it was just luck and said entity is as surprised as we are where we have gone.

The problem with all of this is its people that express ideas as fact when people of faith express ideas as a way of life.
Granted there are exceptions to this and if you disagree with them they will remove your head should the chance come around.

I would prefer to not participate at all, too many people in organized religion have a funny idea of how to love each other. I will pay a $1 for that understanding.
I understand my limitations for the most part and will reframe from making comment on your beliefs.

One could always be less organized.
