Only the people who had issues with not being a jerk had issues with the red bar system. It didn't bother me a single time. It's not "Mob rule" as each person votes secretly and independently of each other. Unless I tell you, you don't know if I have voted for you, or what I have put in there.

It's like walking into a biker bar and punching the first guy you see, then blaming all of them beating you on "mob rule."

I came to this forum as a kid in my early 20's. I'm now in my mid 40's, and still moving forward. When I first came here, I did the typical young punk stuff and certainly rubbed some people the wrong way. But I grew with PFF, and hopefully I'm not as irritating now.. .I probably am, but still.

It worked at one time but now its not, so here we are.
Personally I would like to see a filter where I can just not see posts by some people. Problem solved, just like blocking someone on facebook or twitter. Good bye

**** you that's why

Something wrong with that girls shirt! :-D

Jake has a legitimate point, IMHO.

A shame when grown men(/women) have to be told how to get along and forced to do so! But.....I guess it's always been that way...and probably always will be.

Woulda...coulda...shoulda.....probably shoulda kept my mouth shut!

HAGO!

Um, that's still mob rule. Being secret doesnt.have a bearing.

Uh, bikers are an example of mob rule, dude.

But in reality, it's like saying I don't agree with your form of opinion because here is why it is exactly like the people you're siding against.... and showing examples of how that's true. But the mob can't disprove it and decides to shout you down because you don't agree with them.

I'm ok not being part of the group think that I'm describing. Not saying that you are group think, but about five OT persons are quite intolerant if you don't carry their political flag with their group.

I'm not trying to argue, but I've found that one side seems to be intolerant and likes to stir things up while the other is just trying to live and enjoy life. There are outliers, for sure.

But people voting in secret is not mob rule. It would only be mob rule if the people all conspired together to ban the certain member, or there were posts telling people to ban a certain member.

You being an Ahole to everyone, and everyone saying they don't like that you are an ahole to them is not mob rule. (Not aimed at you, just an example.)

I think the people who want to be leftalone don't post here.

Voting in secret is almost the definition of mob rule. The outcome has no bearing. The intent has no bearing. True democracy is mob rule. Take Wester Civ in school. Mob rule (democracy) is taught as part of the development of our civilization. It includes a lesson of how they voted on pieces of fired pottery for or against someone or something. The word "ostracizing" is derived from the name of those pieces of fired clay. That is mob rule. Voting was secret.

You exemplify the problem here. When you make a very obvious mistake, and I assume are embarrassed that it's public, you start name calling because someone else saw it.

Fats is one of the most relaxed, and grounded people on this message board I've ever met. Don't start going at it with him, or I'll be forced to defend my bro.

I think too many people let the line between internet shenanigans and real life blur.

Internet, I will argue politics or social-bullsheet issues. Real-life I wont put up with it and "want to be left alone". I simply walk away from "problems" or, if need be, remove them from my existence.

Don't like smokers or beer drinkers or non-pronoun users or gas-burners or leather-wearers or meat-eaters or rebel-flag-flyers or a boat-load of other things ? Offended ? There is the door, and one way or another its gonna get used. Because I really don't give a rats ass, and am YEARS past trying to accommodate an entire planet. **** 'em all.

You do you and I'll do me and we will probably get along fine. Try to take over and no we wont.
