He died really recently, so no biggy if he gets turned into the police now. |

Thanks for sharing that. Your father inspires me and gives me hope.

Gettting back to the OT, The insurance company picked up the car from the towing company, mainly to save on storage fees . They told my sister it's most likely totaled, they just need to have the car to double check. There was further damage into the engine compartment due the angle of impact. The battery was smashed, the transaxle & radiator may have been damaged. Who knows what other under hood items might be compromised. The only undamaged parts on outside of the car were the roof and the driver's side rear door.
We should know soon, I've given my daily driver to my sister to get around until she gets another car. She's looking at various mid-sized SUV's. Our Suncoast credit union has a car buying service, we have used them before.

Glad it was not worse, cars can be replaced. No one likes to lose something they like but in the end sometimes the best you can do is just move on.

Insurance contacted my sister, the car is totaled. They valued the car at 18,500 plus an amount for sales tax. That is about what we were expecting.

Good luck to your sister, finding a replacement. Does the valuation take the current absurd inflation into account?

I was kind of just effing with Todd. I appreciate all the advice and conversation you've given me over the years.
Todd, just busting chops. I have no real qualms. I just read your post I think differently than you type them. I do want that Town Car. Sell it to me.

I am very sensitive, and I take things personally. Hahah, probably more true than a joke... but no, that's cool.
It's a Crown Victoria. It was my grandfather's car, which I inherited when he passed away. My grandfather loaned it to me when I took my wife to the cabin in West Virginia to propose to her (she was not my wife then). I also drove it home from the hospital with my new (then) daughter in the backseat. And... of course, it was my grandfathers... so I have an immense attachment to it.
Right now, all it does is sit in the garage. Battery is dead, it's been dead for like a month, eventually I'll get it charged and start it up again... I know... it's bad.

I believe you take things a little more personal than you want people to know. I as well, the older I get. Not so much personal, in my case, just the world hurts for me to view a lot more than in the past.
I don't need the nostalgia or specs. I need it in my possession. At least replace the battery so I don't have to deal with that in the 23F temperature here when I get it home.
