Bat Out of Hell and Bat Out of Hell II, Bonnie Tyler’s “Total Eclipse of the Heart,” Celine Dion’s “It's All Coming Back to Me Now,” the Sisters of Mercy’s “This Corrosion,” and Air Supply’s "Making Love Out of Nothing at All,” has died. The cause of death has not yet been yet announced, but the Connecticut state medical examiner has confirmed that he suffered a “sudden medical emergency” at his Connecticut home on Monday and later died in the hospital. The legendary Songwriters Hall of Fame inductee, record producer, and playwright was 73.

Even an old fart like me liked Steinman/Meatloaf's work.

Shame, very talented guy. Were you familiar with the story of how the Meatloaf album was supposed to be a Jim Steinman album?

Hadn't figured you for a Meatloaf fan, but, never can tell.

I'm a fan of any artist that pours heart and soul into a performance and Meatloaf certainly did that better than most. Steinman's songwriting was not made for any lesser talent. Bonnie Tyler and Air Supply's treatment of his work exhibits the same thing.
I 'may' have been influenced a bit by having 4 teenage kids in the house during the late 70s and 80s....

This song cracked me up the first time I heard it:

"What's it gonna be boy? Yes or No?"
