This map that delineates the internationally recognized boundaries between Ukraine and Russia could not be less relevant, in terms of understanding or critiquing what cvxjet just said about "Rudy" and Russia.

Putin calls the shots (says Captain Obvious) for the Russian Federation. Putin's "game" includes maintaining and if possible, further expanding the Russian Federation's power and influence in Ukraine. To this end, Putin collaborates with pro-Russian factions and oligarchs in Ukraine, including (very notably) Dmitry Firtash.

The bulls**t that pro-Russian Ukrainians fed to Rudy Giuliani was bulls**t that came from Vladimir Putin.
