Crude oil prices rise after Colonial Pipeline cyberattack

Colonial Pipeline Co. operates the 5,500 mile system taking fuel from the Gulf Coast to New York.

Most of us are going to end up paying higher prices for our fuel. We get the government we deserve.
Fortunately, this effects all of us, not just the folks that don't like petroleum products. It also highlights our weakness as a nation.

The implication is that our entire cyber security system is insufficient to the threat. That electricity you use is also threatened by those that wish to bring us down.

Oh, I know. But I'm saying that with solar panels and a battery storage component you are a little more self sufficient in mobility. A grid tied solar system isn't that attractive to me.

But won't these situations like with Colonial just be used to start a war with Iran, Russia and China?

Will a solar system provide for all your needs? Unlikely in my case.

I doubt it'll drive us to a war but, it is obviously a weapon to be used during a conflict against us.

Well, that's why I said a "little more self sufficient". Of course it makes you less reliant on the grid. And oil changes aren't a thing on an electric car. Currently there are little amount of taxes on electric cars. But fuel has high taxes built in.

Some in the independent news circle fully believe cyber attacks will be false flag blamed on the nations that the global elite want us warring against.

Possibly but, had this cyber attack been to both pipe lines and the electrical grid, we'd all be up a creek with only a paddle. Obviously, if the lock out lasted long enough.

When they're commonplace and something unexpected happens to the grid we'll have people posting about that being a reason they kept their internal combustion engine.

Possibly. One thing I'm pretty sure of is, the current fleet of vehicles I have will be with me the rest of my life. About the only way they will get replaced is if one is involved in some kind of accident or suffers some major mechanical failure. Unlikely though. I drive and ride the most reliable machines made by mankind. Of course, that's just going by the known stats, one never know for sure.

Regardless, the fact that this nation can be held hostage by a keyboard warrior should be a concern to everyone.
