Ohio's COVID vaccine lottery: Here's who is eligible to win $1 million

https://www.msn.com/en-us/n...HkN8?ocid=uxbndlbing

How to get more people vaccinated?

Ohio Gov. Mike DeWine outlined a plan Tuesday night as he offered five $1 million prizes to adults who have been vaccinated and five full-ride scholarships to state schools to teens who get vaccinated.

Will this convince anti-vaxers to get vaccinated? An interesting idea....

It's going to be more difficult to get younger people to take part in the vaccination program.
Overall, the states look to average about 45% at least one shot with only 16 states 50% or higher. Ohio stands at 42.3%
The least vaccinated states, as a % of their population are in the old deep South and the most vaccinated are in the NE along with 2 states on the West Coast.
Vt is the most vaccinated (at least 1 shot) state at 62%, followed by Maine, D.C., R.I, De, NH, Calif and Ct.

Those numbers do not include those who have had it and recovered, i.e. "naturally vaccinated". Has anyone estimated the true totals between vaccinated and recovered?
rinselberg MAY 14, 08:46 PM
I don't think that the level of immunity from having had the infection compares favorably with the level of immunity from being vaccinated.

Just based on what I've read. Or think that I've read.

If I were working the herd immunity angle--ha, ha, ha--I wouldn't factor that in.

You have got to stop reading the scare mongering media. How on earth do you think you wouldn't have the same or better immunity from recovering from the actual virus? You think vaccines have some magical property? Do you understand how vaccines work?

rinselberg MAY 14, 10:37 PM
I withdraw my previous remark, but not because I think it was mistaken.

SERVPRO . . . like my previous remark never even happened.

Actually, I don't withdraw my previous remark. I decline to enlarge upon it. "Defensive Indifference." That's the proper scoring.

Actually, most media I have read clearly states a natural case of almost all diseases results in an equal or better immunity than vaccine do, including far right and far left media....assuming the patient survives the ordeal or recovers back to their pre-illness good health.
The really big positive or advantage to vaccines and the immunity is that you stand a much much better chance of not having a serious case or dying than you would with a vaccine initiated immunity.*

Edit: I left out a key prefix.
*Should have read "with a non-vaccine initiated immunity."

It's too soon to compare an experimental injection that's been given emergency clearance instead of FDA approval with vaccines.
