-This was just a recommended vid popped up on youtube after I watched a music vid Williegoat posted (Riders on the Storm), otherwise I would have probably never bumped into it.
"Cyclical." I guess it is reassuring in some ways.... and not.... in other ways, that the same stuff is essentially still what we all argue about. It can also help point out what might actually be changing, and how we got where we are, or how we stay there. (Granted this is just one interview with one guy.) Anyway it was interesting to me. Always interested in what you guys think about any or all of it.[This message has been edited by 2.5 (edited 05-25-2021).]

Just one simple surface tangible easy note among many good points (I almost hate to mention one as it may detract from the others) but :
So who "assembles huge crowds in one spot", who has the most power, as he said? Who has an audience to direct like a maestro of sorts? Folks who run social media, and media, "news", and entertainment replacing life? Users of it are after all.. the masses. Screen addicted. No need to amass them, it is broadcast into their hands and heads wherever they go. "Used as a tool to hypnotize people in a kind of a waking sleep".

I thought it was an interesting interview, not because he said anything profound, but because I am always interested in cultural perspectives. He is (was) 11 years older than me, so when he was talking about "the kids", he was talking about us, although at the time, we saw him as one of us.
He was a screwed up guy, but an exceptional artist. Those two things often go hand in hand, as evidenced by his dubious distinction as a member of the "27 club".
Thanks for posting.
"L.A. Woman" is my Fiero's theme song. Morrison died four months after the album's release.
That is a genny shovel in the video thumb above.[This message has been edited by williegoat (edited 05-25-2021).]
