"'Kraken' Sanctions Hearing Devolves Into Screaming Sh*tshow Debacle"
Elizabeth Dye for Above The Law; July 12, 2021. https://abovethelaw.com/202...ing-shtshow-debacle/
Synopsis
quote | The City of Detroit and state of Michigan requested sanctions, including fines and referral for disbarment for lawyers Sidney Powell, Howard Kleinhendler, Lin Wood, Stefanie Lambert Juntilla, Julia Haller, and a handful of their squidlet associates. The gravamen of the claim was that the plaintiffs’ attorneys failed to conduct the most basic due diligence to vet the “evidence” in support of their fantastical claims of a stolen election. |
|
"I am not a potted plant!"
quote | Attorney Donald Campbell mounted a spirited defense of Powell, Woods, Kleinhendler, and Lambert Juntilla, although client control proved a challenge, particularly with respect to Woods and Kleinhendler. But at times Campbell appeared to antagonize the court himself.
“I am not a potted plant!” he shouted during a particularly contentious exchange in which the judge cautioned him not to question “my procedures.” |

I can't help but think of those Wonderful Pistachios TV commercials. Pistachios would have been a fine choice for anyone who wanted to snack as they followed this courtroom hearing. Wonderful Pistachios--Get Kraken![This message has been edited by rinselberg (edited 07-13-2021).]

The PFF "jury" is still out on that.....
They're not quite sure how you should be categorized.

It's also not difficult to ascertain just how far LEFT the people at that thinly veiled propaganda website, "Above the Law" are when they use hyperbolic, loaded language like:
"the safe harbor period was triggered some time before December 15. Which is, of course, more than 21 days before the sanctions motion was actually filed on January 5, about which we probably would have written on January 6 if the country weren’t in the midst of a coup inspired by lies told in these exact filings by then."
One of the editors of that propagandist pool is a young woman that also runs a podcast called "The Jabot" which she says she named in honor of her hero "Notorious Ruth Bader Ginsburg", (her words), and, "as a reminder that even when we have set backs in the war for Social Justice we are still winning." (once again her words).
It might be fair to "cut them a little slack" on that website if they had a balance of contrasting apolitical or even conservative articles, but they don't.
LEFTISTS just can't help themselves from showing who they are, even ones that attended "prestigious" law schools.[This message has been edited by randye (edited 07-16-2021).]

A second federal judge has "castigated" attorneys who filed a pro-Trump aligned lawsuit challenging the 2020 presidential election results.
That would be United States Magistrate Judge for the District of Colorado N. Reid Neureiter.
Rosalind S. Helderman reports for the Washington Post; July 16, 2021. https://www.washingtonpost....a0dde7771_story.html
Some excerpts.
quote | Just before Christmas, two Colorado lawyers filed a federal lawsuit on behalf of 160 million American voters, alleging a vast conspiracy to steal the 2020 presidential election by the voting equipment manufacturer Dominion Voting Systems, Facebook, its founder Mark Zuckerberg, his wife Priscilla Chan and elected officials in four states — and asking for $160 billion in damages.
The case was dismissed in April, but now a federal judge is considering disciplining the lawyers for filing a frivolous claim — sharply questioning the duo in a Friday hearing about whether they had allowed themselves to be used as “a propaganda tool” of former president Donald Trump.
“Did that ever occur to you? That, possibly, [you’re] just repeating stuff the president is lying about?” Federal Magistrate Judge N. Reid Neureiter asked the two lawyers, Gary D. Fielder and Ernest John Walker, during a hearing to consider sanctioning them. |
|
quote | On Monday, a federal judge in Michigan spent nearly six hours skeptically questioning a group of nine lawyers, including pro-Trump attorneys Sidney Powell and L. Lin Wood, in a similar hearing to determine whether to discipline the group for filing a lawsuit that sought to overturn President Biden’s win in that state.
Sanctions hearings are pending in other states as well, including Wisconsin, where Gov. Tony Evers (D) has asked a judge to order Trump and his lawyers to pay the state’s legal fees stemming from post-election litigation. |
|
quote | . . . the judge [N. Reid Neureiter] questioned whether, as officers of the court, the lawyers could file a lawsuit based on mere belief of problems. He noted the they had presented “not one iota” of evidence to support claims, for instance, that Dominion’s machines were hacked or that Facebook had manipulated the election via grants donated by Zuckerberg and routed to local officials through a nonprofit group. |

A federal judge edict forced (at bayonet and barrel of a gun) that same sex marriage must be forced into all States despite the majority passing legislation and code that marriage is 1 man and 1 woman.
Federal activism makes might, not right. Ask any dunce or even cerebral minded pot smoker. Even they know.[This message has been edited by sourmash (edited 07-17-2021).]
