NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WTVF) — The Tennessee State Building Commission has just voted 5-2 to remove a controversial (and large) bronze bust of Confederate Civil War General Nathan Bedford Forrest from the Tennessee State Capitol Building in Nashville.
Tennessee Governor Bill Lee's office says the actual removal will happen Friday morning.
That's part of a brief report from News Channel 5 Nashville. https://www.newschannel5.co...d-from-capitol-today
Much has already been posted about this (much of it by me) on this very forum: http://www.fiero.nl/forum/F.../HTML/126311.html#p0

So this means that you're finally going to STFU about it now?

Yeah. I could see that. My STFU about it. Unless I feel inspired by some new "angle" to the story that may arise. Maybe the YouTube videos that are doubtless coming, of the bronze being removed from its perch in the TN State Capitol Building, and after that, videos or reporting about its new exhibit in the TN State Museum.
But aside from that, I could well STFU about it.
At least, I can imagine my STFU about it.
Unless somebody else comes in here with a remarkable remark.[This message has been edited by rinselberg (edited 07-23-2021).]

I'd guess that nobody on this board even knew the statue was there. I know I didn't. And it also goes to show how people moving into an area from other areas want to change the place to reflect the place they're 'escaping' from.
I was in Nashville for a few days 15 years ago. Illegal alien Mexicans were everywhere. I don't care for the town.
I never really knew what Nathan Bedford Forest meant to history until lately. Pity.

You mean the DEMORAT INSURRECTION OF 1861 ?
The really notable riots, rebellions and INSURRECTIONS in the United States have ALL been caused by or done by DEMORATS
Dorr Rebellion 1841
US Civil War 1861
New York City Draft Riots July 1863
Battle of Liberty Place September 1874
Alabama Election Riot 1874
Wilmington Insurrection 1898
Battle of Athens 1946
As of today, DEMORATS hold the singular "distinction" of being the only political party of serial INSURRECTION and rebellion in the United States.
Since their founding in 1828, they have a very long and ugly history of political violence.[This message has been edited by randye (edited 07-24-2021).]

There are a lot of Westerners who have been driven out by the results of Democrat run communities, communities that are now eating themselves. Some are Yankees and they all bring some of their former community ideals with them.
Similarly, in order to overturn traditional marriage State by State a few years back, homosexuals moved in to challenge State constitutions.
