Probably not but it's an interesting thought. Them libs in Austin would probably welcome an NFL team tho Buffalo's owner Terry Pegula is reportedly a registered Republican but is also pretty closed mouth politically.

I don't think "Austin Bills" cuts the mustard. They'll need a new name. I mean, what's a "Bill" unless it's in Buffalo?

A name change is normal imho. The Houston Oilers became the Tennessee Titans.

Hey! Bill is a noble and proud name!

Based on the political demographics of Austin, a good name might be the Austin Karens. Especially when they decide that Bill Cody exploited the indiansigenous people.

But since the move is prompted by money, they could easily become the Dollar Bills.

The current Houston team should have called themselves the Houston Losers. (why my team sucks) It's not too late tho.

VariousNFL/AFL/NFC teams have changed their names.

(The Washington team was originally named the Braves but the faux native American coach at the time (Lone Star Dietz) and several of the native American players on the team didn't like the name Braves and they opted to change to Redskins, which nowadays Native Americans evidently found offensive. )

Well i hope they stay in Buffalo.. I grew up there and was a big Bill's fan. I was a kid during the 4 Super Bowls in a row era.. Never could get the win, but it was an exciting time to be a Bill's fan.

With a few exceptions, does anyone really care?

I suspect the 11 million viewers of Buffalo regular season games care, as do those who watched the Bills lose in overtime in the playoffs.

The Buffalo Bills’ 22-19 overtime playoff lost to the Houston Texans had a local rating in the low end of recent Super Bowls.

The game had a combined season-high Nielsen rating of 50.9 in Buffalo on ABC affiliate WKBW-TV (44.9) and ESPN (6.0).

It was the most-viewed NFL wild-card game ever on ESPN and ABC and averaged 26,409,000 viewers, with a high of 35,450,000 during overtime.

National viewership for the Bills-Texans game was up 14% from the viewership for the Texans’ wild-card loss to Indianapolis in 2019.

My ducks want to know if you are sane.

Question, don't Google. Why is/was the Buffalo "Bills" named the "Bills" ?
