Really looking forward to that.
Meanwhile there's been a lot of hype the past 7 months about an Italian red "hyper" car finally showing up again after 50 years..... next year.

The last time I cared about the LMP cars was when the Audi diesels showed everybody how to do it nearly 20 years ago. Nothing had been that "cool" since the 917's. Those cars are not "prototypes" and they are just plain ugly.
I have had a love/hate relationship with Toyota racing ever since I watched Fangio and Jones kick everybody's butt at PIR back in the early '90s. Fangio finished 31/2 laps ahead of the rest of the field. It was like no one else was even there.
I do love to watch the GT cars though. Especially since the Americans came back. It's too bad there aren't any Fords this year, though.
I miss the beauty of cars like the Ferrari 330 P4 and the Alfa Tipo 33. Cars designed by people, for people.

It seems that we share very similar tastes in racing machinery.
I do still have a great fondness for the 333SP though.
The Formula 1 640's engine , a Dallara chassis, gobs of oversteer and 4 fenders = big fun.
I drove a couple of laps in Moretti's example at Sebring many moons ago, (not in "anger"), but quick enough to put it on my "most fun I've ever had with my clothes on list"[This message has been edited by randye (edited 08-20-2021).]

That new Vette sounds AMAZING, sweet in racing trim. Its like a flat plain crank or 180.
Don't know what they did but I want one.

Yep, flat plane @9000rpm.

Four and a half hours in and a Corvette is leading its class. 
Those damned Toyotas are doing just what Toyotas do, 11 seconds between them and over a minute ahead of everybody else. Boring. 
No sooner than I typed that, and the Chevy pitted and is now running behind two prancing horses and a fancy Volkswagen.
The two Toyos are still right where they were. Still boring.

Corvette #63 has reeled in one Ferrari and one Porsche and is now a minute and a half behind the class leader. It's going to be tough, he's chasing one quick pony.
As I am typing, the Ferrari pitted and the 'Vette has snatched back his Lead Dog hat.

Ten hours in.
It's been kind of sloppy. Rain on and off and a lot of yellow.
But there has been some good racing in GTE Pro. The battle between the #63 Corvette and the #51 Ferrari has been worth watching.

The sun will be up in about a half hour and the 'Vette hasn't been in the lead in a few hour. I am planning an insurrection.
