Flu Vaccinations? Yeah, it's that time again. (Page 1/3)

Some folks don't get them, some folks do. I honestly don't care cause I'm getting mine, you do what you wish. Same reason I used to do a good pre-flight of helicopters I used to test fly. Precautionary steps can save me a lot of issues and crashing can hurt.

Both my pharmacy and my family physician have contacted me saying I need to come in and get a flu shot but, when I ask about combining it with a COVID booster, they don't see any problems but suggest I contact the Moderna Research folks for any concerns they may have.

So, I have spoken to my Moderna contacts and they agree that there shouldn't be any issues but have advised me that there must be a 14 day window between the two vaccines because, both vaccinations can cause similar effects (such as a sore arm, fever, fatigue...) and since I'm in the Research study, they want to know any symptoms I may get from the booster is due to the booster vaccination and not a flu vaccination or because of some effect the combination my result in. I don't expect any major symptoms in that I didn't have any symptoms from the first two vaccinations. I do have friends that have taken both vaccinations and survived without any issues.

So, I'll be getting my flu shot ASAP so that I can get my booster in two weeks. This assumes our anti-vaxers don't come up with some evidence of another addiction or malformity caused by the flu shot. My re-occurring addiction to Orange is enough for me to handle. Wink

I dunno...

It always seems to cause euphoria, erratic behavior, in time drowsiness and followed by headache.

Oh. Waint. Never mind.

I'm thinking of Jager shots.

But, but, but wait! It's the goal of big pharma to make you take a flu shot every year! /s

If you don't get one you can't work here! You have to prove you had the flu shot because I can't get the flu shot myself. /s

I wonder when we are going to learn from this dystopia? You do you, leave me be. (I get one every year jic)

Not sure if this is a who gets and who don't thread? But it made me think about how it is handled where I work. If we don't take the flu shot, we have to sign a waiver.
That is all.

Your 'logic', it just isn't. The flu shot is a random guess, totally nothing akin to a pre-flight. This is such a rich country, anyone can have a good life.

You must be lonely.

It's interesting because I haven't had a flu shot in 20 years. I'm 50 and have only caught the flu a handful of times. Now my kids, that's another story.

Now that you brought that up and I think about it, we had four kids and one are the other would come down with something regardless of how many flu shots that were given. Me, felt bad are had a cold but never had a shot, except at a party.

Your understanding of the flu is interesting but, you obviously haven't got a clue about the reasons for a good preflight especially on a test flight of a helicopter. But, that's ok.
You must be lonely.

Gosh, you nailed it, I even like most country music. We all expected you'd be stepping in and welcome constructive comments. Have any?
