Was this with a special exposure, or is that pretty much exactly how it looked to the naked eye? The brightness of the tail is fascinating!

That's literally how it looked in real life. It was insane.

When a rocket is launched to the west of your location (southwest in this case) and shortly after sunset, as the rocket climbs it becomes lit by the sun against a dark sky. Evening launches from Vandenberg can be spectacular when viewed from Phoenix.
