I miss the car show they use to have at the community college. There was a pond out front, and every year 1 or 2 of them would venture in. And every year they had a hell of a time getting out.

If you want to see really funny and cool movie that has a Amphicar in it, watch "The President's Analyst" with James Coburn.....Kind of obscure but hilarious....Watch out for the phone company!

One time I was kayaking in Miramar Lake and an Amphicar floated by having a blast. This seems like an extremely low price for one that is in such great shape.

It's only worth what a buyer and seller agree on what it's worth. I'd suggest there aren't very many potential buyers and the seller recognizes this.
I know this, if it was given to me, it better be next door for me to even consider bringing it home and I'm not even sure I'd do it then.
Reliability and spare parts for repairs make this a yard art project.

Imagine getting a flat tire while its in the water... you're need a scuba gear or a lot of huffin' and puffin' with a snorkel...or hold yer breath...on the plus side, you won't need a jack, at least... but the spare might float away... hmmmmmm.....

and how could you tell if the car had flood damage?!?

Could probably do a pretty cool "drive off a cliff into the ocean" stunt...ONCE.

I'm thinking we may have different definitions of what's "pretty cool".

There was a "Camaro" styled high performance Amphicar back a decade ago or so......Has a Subaru 300 hp engine and a jet drive for the water....125 on land, 40 mph on water.....custom aluminum frame, retractable wheels......
