From your source:

Nevada is reporting more than 1,000 new COVID-19 cases in data released today, but fewer deaths were reported and hospitalizations have dropped.

I don't believe anyone has suggested any of the vaccines were a cure all.
Merck has announced a new "pill" that seems to show some promise. Read that it reduced hospital inpatients and deaths of those with COVID by half. There are no perfect vaccines.

Covid "cases " mean very little. If a test says you're positive and have no symptoms or have light symptoms, it doesnt mean much.

Cases is a number you use to inflate stats.

"18-fold." I say again, "18-fold."

Washoe County, which has the city of Reno, is Nevada's second most populated county, with a population of over 420,000 as of the 2010 census.

quote
In this case series analysis from Washoe County, Nevada, the rate of breakthrough infections [among vaccinated individuals] was more than 18-fold lower than the rate of infections among unvaccinated individuals. Most importantly, rates of severe illness were low in vaccinated individuals. These findings add to a growing body of data that can reassure the public on the real-world effectiveness of the COVID-19 vaccines.2

Our findings should be interpreted in light of key limitations. Early data still undergoing investigation suggests increasing rates of VBTs. Our VBT sample is not representative due to shifts in testing behavior and availability. Despite these limitations, this analysis adds to existing literature outlining the risks of VBTs and emphasizes the need for health authorities to monitor evolving trends in vaccine breakthrough data.
