Tesla moves to Texas (Page 1/1)
Wichita OCT 07, 07:59 PM
Today's Tesla shareholder meeting, Elon Musk made the announcement that they are officially moving Tesla's HQ from California to Austin, Texas.

Just another add to many big corporations moving their HQ's and operations out of California to Texas.

Texas welcomes Tesla!

Is Texas really heading in the right direction?

Well I live in California and I may see this differently than others might? SCREW CALIFORNIA, good for you Tesla.

My understanding is that basically anything having to do with an office is moving to Texas. Elon is keeping the Tesla factory in Fremont and is talking about expanding production. I guess he doesn't want people to lose their jobs.

Musk's SpaceX already has 2 facilities in Texas. One launch and assembly site at Boca Chico and a rocket engine assembly/test facility in Central Tx at McGregor just South of Waco. There's a new Raptor engine factory being built at the same McGregor facility.

Bezos' Blue Origin's facility is out in SW Texas near Van Horn. About 150 mi NW of Marfa and 30ish miles from the Mexican border.

Reportedly, someone is trying to wrangle a deal to build a launch facility near Midland Odessa Tx but I forget who it is.

I did not realize that Tesla was built in Fremont. I looked it up and that is the old GM plant where both of my other (non Fiero) Pontiacs were built back in 1970.

And later, it was home to the Chevy Nova, Geo Prism, Toyota Corolla, Pontiac Vibe and probably others I'm not aware of.

It WOULD be Austin.......

They should have QUITE the low pay employee pool to pull from with all the border crossers.
