It's all over the Internet that today's a national holiday. Who declared it and when? (Page 1/1)

October 19 has been designated National Seafood Bisque Day, but when and by who--I haven't found the answer.

Our research did not find the creator or the origin of this day. We did not find any congressional records or presidential proclamations for this day.

That's from Gone-ta-pott(.com) but I'm on the same list. I haven't turned up the origins of this day in my relatively brief online search.

The [National Seafood Bisque] holiday is celebrated the whole month [sic] of October 19.

That's at the top. They've obviously confused ("typo'd") National Seafood Bisque Day with National Seafood Month, which is October.

You probably won't find out any of that very easily, since they aren't 'officially' recognized holidays by anyone other than

Tomorrow is Nat hagfish day. I'll wait until then to make my seafood bisque and kill 2 days with one pot..
