This wont end well. Have you SEEN the roads ? And now they want to give them a 3rd direction to move in ?

I'd prefer a Jetson unit. These guys have a very clean product.

All of those designs are neat and cool and all.....until the 1st time some kid or zombie wanders into a spinning rotor. Live ramps are not a place for the general public.

I kind of agree with MEM on this. At some point, almost anyone will be able to buy one of these... and I'm all for freedom and less regulation, but I cannot imagine it would affect aerodynamics that much that you wouldn't want to build a cage around it. I'd imagine something that just goes around the exterior of the blade. I'd think you'd want that anyway... as the guy in the Jetson One video was cruising through the trees... my first thought was what would happen if he clipped one of them....

Oh ye of little faith...
About the same thing that would happen if a motorcycle clipped a guardrail post, a curb, or the edge of a vehicle at 70 mph.
The licensing and learning curve would be self filtering, culling out most of the idiots, sociopaths and psychos. (emphasis on 'most')

I know... you're right. But I probably wasn't totally clear. My thought wasn't really on the person riding the vehicle, but what would happen as they spun out of control and possibly hit a pedestrian. I'm imaging such a vehicle being used on a beach with a lot of people, or potentially even on open roads at some point. The possibility of people just walking on the side of the road getting hit by one of these is more so than a normal car flying off the road and onto the sidewalk. People hit each other all the time... just slight bumping, etc. But with blades, those will be taking first impact in any situation, and it'll throw sharp shrapnel all over the place.
