The good old days (Page 1/1)

You know how we say "the good old days" we may love to turn back the hands of time and be in a moment in the past to enjoy it. A time in the past, "a simpler time". Many enjoyed younger years because they didn't worry as much as they did later on in life. I'm not sure of that was me or not. I was listening to a few songs and it made me think, maybe one of the reasons is now we know how things turn out, we can go back and enjoy it without trying so hard. We know they do turn out. Or perhaps we know its a rare cherished time with people we miss and we can go back knowing more about the rarity of the moments. The things that matter.
I guess what I'm saying is live each moment.

Just heard part of one the artists songs in a tv show and looked her up. Found a few thought provoking. She fits my affinity for heartfelt songs.

Today is tomorrows good old day.

I wasn't old enough yet, but one or both of my 2 older sisters probably did some kind of work on these 2 vehicles.

Official labor rate in '55 was $1/hr. Less, when the labor is provided by family members earning their keep and learning a trade.

For me, the "good ol' days" will always be characterized by the music of bands like The New Riders, Little Feat and Hot Tuna.

While so many were listening to KC and the Sunshine band or Donna Summer, some of us were dancing to a different tune. The counter culture to the counter culture.

These old geezers are still at it. Jorma will turn 81 in a few weeks.

Only one guy in this video is still alive:
(from 1975)

Three of these people have passed, and one will be in prison for the rest of his life:
(from 1977)

I got to see The New Riders right around that time and have seen Little Feat countless times since back when Lowell George was still alive.
Little Feat and The Mothers of Invention are the two most stunning bands I have ever seen on stage. Both were absolutely jaw dropping.
