Is it Spring already? (Page 1/4)

Must be Spring, had to mow the lawn yesterday. May mow the side yard today. New Year's Eve and I'm mowing, it just doesn't seem right. Would have preferred to be on two or three wheels but...

The wife always buys pumpkins for display for Halloween, a few days after Halloween I took them out to her garden, smashed them so they'd break down faster by driving over them with my Kubota tractor. Now, I've got pumpkin plants coming up. They'll die off if we get a freeze but, something about this just ain't right in my mind.

The question is, does this count as getting some wind?

I wore safety sunglasses and wore my helmet (for a while) just for fun.

Three days ago I saw a pair of eastern bluebirds checking out our yet to be cleaned out nest boxes. They usually migrate out of here in mid November. Up here, this is just wrong!
BTW, it snowed a couple of inches the day after, and tomorrow it's going to be 50. ?????

Happy New Year,
Marc

Weather here has been typical for this early in winter. Cool weather in November, then a warmup for December with weekly rains. We have not yet had a hard frost.
I would mow my own lawn, but the ground is too soggy.
Tho it doesn't 100% fit the characteristics of one, we used to call this an Indian Summer but that probably is seen as offensive to someone somewhere nowadays.

Not real sure about this but, if following the former Cleveland Indian saga, I'm thinking you may be experiencing a "Guardian Summer".
Are people ignoring my question? Hmm Obviously not a Fiero type question but, I knew that already.

Actually I was referring to the question of whether or not riding the mower or Kubota counted as getting into the wind but, I should have been clearer with the enquiry.

I knew what you meant. Some years back, my Aunt married an old classmate after her husband died. He spent most of his adult life living in Buffalo, NY. When he moved back to Franklin, he brought a copy of a Buffalo newspaper he had saved. It had a picture of him on his lawn with a mower on Christmas day. He did it as a gag because they had no snow.

I remember last year, during my time off for Christmas and New Years, I was able to take the bike out.

This year, it is too soggy wet out to even get the bike out of the garage.

Without the frost and with all the rain, I have been fearful the grass may need mowed. It is plenty green

Honey, didn't your doctor prescribed those for you to wear anytime that you go outdoors?

While you can ask most questions, please don't use terms of endearment such as this. It's your business and I don't care how you swing but, I don't swing that way.
