Jonny Quest Stop motion (Page 1/1)

When I was very young (Back in the 60s) my favorite show was "The Adventures of Jonny Quest"...It would take some searching to find it on Saturday mornings because it was syndicated early on (After cancelation) and each network had it on at one point or another. I would run around the room on overdrive I was so happy when I found it. Hovercraft, Hydrofoils, flying belts, Lasers- plus pterodactyls, giant condors, Komodo dragons, robot spiders, etc. (Actually, "ETC!!!!!!!!!")

Well, I was just looking up some info on it and came across a fan website...and the guy actually made a stop-motion version of the lead-in! So check it out.

Jonny Quest Fan Site

That's pretty cool. As I stated Here (along with several attached video clips), Jonny Quest was my favorite TV cartoon as a kid back back in the 60's.

Interesting what the fella said at his site about the animation of the original series.

It was canceled after only one season. It was simply too expensive to produce. The Hanna-Barbera artists were accustomed to producing rubbery, squash and stretch animals and goofy humans. The hyper-realistic pen and ink character designs of series creator Doug Wildey proved to be too much of a task to maintain on a weekly basis.

That explains why the episodes from the original season looked so much better than the later version of the show which followed in the 80's.

Here's the opening and closing credits of the original series (although at 2:23 there's a brief glimpse of the inferior later style animation).

Crap

What the hell was that crap? The name of Jonny Quest shouldn't even be associated with it.
