Last season i had a couple of problems on wet roads with the motor controller getting wet and shutting down (yeh, I got to wait until it dried out). Soooo, I want to move it up higher, something like this.
Current configuration is like this
Printing up a couple of brackets and installing the support tube for the "tank" controller box itself is no problem, but I have 2 options for the box itself, I can design and print one which is a YUGE pita and will have to be done in about 8 pieces and glued/screwed together BUT is 100% plastic (PETg probably) so there will never be any short/grounding issues.
#2 is to pick up a used motorcycle gas tank, do a little cutting and printing some trim pieces and using that, but that re-introduces possible moisture issues.
My temporary solution last year was to zip-tie some plastic bags around the unit to waterproof it, and that worked short-term but really isnt a permanent fix.....and besides, with the skull headlight and tail-light, and skeleton hand mirrors, I want a nice rib-cage controller box !!
Both options are about the same work and cost, so which one seems better to you guys ?

Look at the way Honda has always done their 4 wheelers. I have one, ride it in mud and deep water frequently (at least weekly) , as well as in rain and have never had a problem with any of it. (I did relocate the battery away from behind and above the left rear wheel just because i went with a battery from a Fiero instead of the high priced ATV battery that usually lasted only 1 year and the car battery wouldn't fit under there anyway) Water proof connections are the key. That 4 wheeler was under my house during the 2017 flood and got water up to the seat for 36 hours and nothing was harmed and I didn't even attempt to start it until about 4 months after the flood. The only thing I had to go into was the carb.[This message has been edited by maryjane (edited 01-08-2022).]

If THAT smell like a new car, a visist to the doc may be in order.

Is this real? I've never seen a Charger that looks like this before! Was this a limited run / body style? Or someone did this as custom?
