A researcher in Cyprus has reportedly discovered a strain of the SARS-CoV-2 Covid virus that has "omicron-like genetic signatures within the delta genomes."

Only 25 people, so far, have been discovered to have been infected with this new Covid strain.

“We will see in the future if this strain is more pathological or more contagious or if it will prevail” against the two dominant strains, delta and omicron, said the researcher.
