As the story goes, his character was based on "Skinny Bobby Harper" at WQXI in Atlanta. (Just a little before my time.)

One of the better TV programs I used to follow.
Thanks for all the laughs Johnny/Howard.

Howard Hesseman and fellow employee Les Nessman. What an opposite pairing!

"more music and Les Nessman".

I usually avoid(ed) "sitcoms", but this one was actually funny. Great chemistry between the characters. RIP Johnny.

R.I.P. Howard-Fever......One of my favorite sitcoms....The episode "Turkeys Away" is considered one of the best sitcom episodes ever....And it was based on a TRUE story (Hugh Wilson, who created the show, used to work at a radio station...a number of episodes are based on actual events he witnessed)

Dr. Johnny Fever, " For those of you who've just tuned in, the Pinedale Shopping Mall has just been bombed with live turkeys. Film at eleven."

Johnny Fever and Jed Clampett were two of my favorite TV characters. The way I see it, they have a lot in common.

They're both portrayed by actors that are now dead?

During a WKRP discussion at one of my last jobs, nobody mentioned Loni Anderson.

I always liked Bailey Quarters (The other woman, portrayed by Jan Smithers)....But one thing I did like about Jennifer was that, though she was obviously visually set up as a "Dumb Blonde", SHE was the one that USUALLY knew everything that was going on;

Mr. Carlson; "Jennifer- do you know what is happening?"

Jennifer; "Yes, Mr. Carlson"

Mr. Carlson; "Could you tell me what is happening?"

Jennifer; "No, Mr. Carlson"

Mr. Carlson; "OK- I'll just go back in my office, then"

To see a different side of (Normally shy) Bailey Quarters, watch the episodes "Filthy Pictures" (Season 2, episodes 21-22)
