I love Americana music! It can mean so much to so many people.
Here is my favorite song from my favorite Americana album featuring some of my favorite musicians. (Can you say favorite three times in one sentence?) Sam Bush on fiddle, Jerry Douglas and Jorma Kaukonen
The whole album as a playlist: https://www.youtube.com/pla...Y11pbikZa4f3abHnds5o

My favorite living clarinet player, Chloe Feoranzo, with Pokey LaFarge. LaFarge is a big proponent of the preservation of Americana.

Americana is a label that ticks off Tyler Childers apparently. I think it was a Grammy event that he was bitching that they stick everything including him in that category while he says he's a country music guy.
I thought Americana fit him.

Americana is more than just Country. It is a modern interpretation of all that makes up American music. Americana borrows from Blues, Jazz, Country, Western and American folk.
Just as Western Swing borrowed from Western, Jazz and even Hawaiian music or Rock and Roll blended Country and Blues; Americana is an amalgamation of many genres, and is still evolving. It is the American soul, the aural manifestation of the "melting pot".[This message has been edited by williegoat (edited 02-07-2022).]

For some reason, it seems to irritate Tyler. It just confused me. It's his hang up, not mine. He seems to just want to be country.
